More Accomplished in Texas

Well our trip to TX was semi-successful this past weekend. We had some communication issues. We went to meet with a baker in Burleson on Saturday. I had called Thursday and asked if we needed an appointment to try the cakes, she said no. I get there on Saturday she says we need an appointment. So we ended up just getting a free cupcake. We spend the rest of the day driving around Fort Worth and went to Central Market and the mall (where we saw someone get caught shoplifting from an electronics store!). We went and looked at Kara's church(the picture on the left) as a possible ceremony location as well as a couple of other churches her friends had been married at before (image to the right) We also found a hotel in Cleburne that is really neat looking and has daily room rentals available for $200, which is amazing because most places only rent out by the 1/2 day or by 4-6 hours and its reaching $800-$1,000. (image directly below) This was relief and it is nice looking. Most places that are that cheap are pretty ugly looking honestly. Mark has a personal assistant/secretary that is really good at coordinating and decorating stuff like this so she is going to help me when she isn't busy with Mark's stuff! Mark and Kara took us out to Ruth's Chris for dinner Saturday night. Then Sunday we drove about an hour an half maybe two hours to meet the lady at the ranch. We were all there waiting but she wasn't there so I called her and asked her where she was and said I was an hour late and she had just gotten home so we would have to reschedule for another time. I was pretty disappointed about that. But we did get a good feel for the place and peeked in through the windows and took pictures as well. I do feel that it is do-able and would be a beautiful place to have the reception outside by the pool and light up all the trees with Christmas lights and put floating candles in the pool. (image to the right and below) And the ceremony in the sunroom. (sunroom is the image or the left) After we looked around there we met a baker that runs her business out of her home in Carrollton with two two-layer 8" cakes (one was chocolate sour-cream with white mousse filling, the other was white chocolate with grand mariner filling). She was very nice and very cheap as well (only $2 a serving). We stopped at a Carls JR on the way home and tried them! They are very good. So right now I have it narrowed down to two venues. Either the ranch or the ceremony at Kara's church and the reception at Liberty Hotel in Cleburne. Below I will post the rest of the images of the ranch so you can get a better feel for what it looks like. You will see images of the entry way, the fire pit, the dining hall, the main view of the ranch itself, the kitchen
